I am a wife, mom of 3 beautiful girls, and the Art Teacher at Bridge City Intermediate School. My hobbies include crafting, camping, traveling, online shopping, and spending time with my family. I am entering my 23rd year of teaching, and I am super excited about the upcoming year! It's going to be incREDible!

FUN FACT: I graduated from Bridge City High School in 1998 and Lamar University-Beaumont in 2001. BCI 5th Grade Art CLUB

Fall Semester 2023

On Wednesday , October 11, 2023,
Fall Semester Art Club visited the Stark Museum of Art and did a special 90 minute lesson: SGRAFITTO ART! 👩🎨 🎨 🖌 Students received a piece of fire ceramics, glazed the tile, and created a scratch art tile that will be fired in the kiln. Afterwards, they had a picnic lunch at Lion’s Den Park. Then, they strolled the Shangri La Gardens to see all the creative scarecrows including their very own scarecrow- Site 30 “Artist Frida Kahlo.”Our art enthusiasts had an incREDible day on their field trip! It’s a great day to be a Cardinal! 🔴⚪️

ART NEWS

INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY
BCI recognized International Dot Day on Sept. 15ish. This global event is inspired by a children's book, The Dot by Peter Reynolds. It's a SWEET story of a girl named Vashti who doesn't think she can draw, and the art teacher encourages her. The art teacher tells her "Just make a mark and see where it takes you." From there the student creates so many dot projects, Vashti ends up encouraging a fellow classmate who thinks he can't draw either. Encouragement is contagious. What a great way to be a Coffee Bean too!BCI students did various dot activities in their PE/enrichment classes on Sept. 15ish.

4th & 5th Graders interested in trying out for UIL Art Smart, please see Mrs. Sensat during the week of Oct. 23-27 for a study packet. You will need to study this art packet to help prepare you for the UIL Art Smart Try-Out test on Friday, November 3rd in the Art Room at 8:00-8:30am.
